You have the LEGAL RIGHT in the State of New York, to bring your vehicle to whatever Repair Facility you choose, to have your repairs done??
A lot of Insurance Companies are guilty of what is called STEERING, their Insureds and Claimants alike, to their own repair facilities, to both minimize repair costs to them, Using cheap aftermarket and used parts, as well as dictate the method of repairs?!?!
This is not only immoral, but HIGHLY ILLEGAL!! and they are doing it more and more everyday!! If you are involved in any type of accident, and you report it to your insurance company, REMEMBER YOUR RIGHTS!!! Under NY Insurance Regulation 64, which is the law on how Insurance Companies must conduct business with Repair Facilities in the State of New York, you have the legal right to have your vehicle brought to which ever shop YOU CHOOSE!!
Don’t let them sway or scare you, as they will most certainly try to, and keep your vehicles going to the shop of your choice, and stop these companies from profiting on your loses.
